  7. Oil Rig engineer for dating scam by Nancy USA I had a fun time with my scammer. We were both on a dating site and he quicky asked me to jump over to Yahoo and use regular email so I set up a bogus account on Yahoo and also gmail, and Installed the chat. His profile was pretty good. Widowed, one child , age 15 however, once we got to regular email his emails were very choppy. He said he was self Employed oil rig engineer in Houston, Tx with 8 men working with him. He right away fell madly in love with me and told me how great a kisser he was. He asked for my snail address to send me a card but what I got was a dozen long stem Roses, a teddy bear and a box of Candy. Every morning there was a heart poem. Every Day I did an ip search and boy this guy traveled! Nigeria, Spain, London, Dublin Ireland. I was getting bored with him so I told him I was very poor and I had nothing to offer him. That didn't work so then when he told me after Christmas he would come and visit me but he wasn't in the state and that was the bye bye. I showed him a copy of his ip trace.. The picture he posted was awsome. He never asked for money, I thought I was always a step ahead of him. Comments for Oil Rig engineer for dating scam Average Rating Oct 25, 2018 Rating Arc Daniel comment by: Anonymous I'm a senior and was scammed 3yrs ago for the first time. I am still in debt and will be for a while. I get horrible spam X rated stuff. I have had many friend requests and I have had 13 more since that try. Don't trust anyone or anything you don't know. If you are online as I was they write real good. In fact one was named James McMillan. He took me right off the site and asked for money. I learned my lesson. I just don't trust anyone anymore. I only stick to my location now. I don't see where I can look at the pictures. I put all mine thru Tineye, then google image search. Good luck to you and all of us men and women. He had a pic and his name was Arc Daniel. Supposedly a widower, Caucasian, 63, New York. He took a 9 month contract on an oil rig off New York city. He claims he owns a gold business. Later he mentions he sells cell phones as well for extra money. He attempted twice to connect. He claimed his wife was killed in a car accident 2 years ago. When I finally accepted he changed Arc Daniel to James McMillian. I asked him about it and he said Arc Daniel was his nickname. He was really smooth and texted me mornings and night. He started the I love you very soon. He then started asking if I could help him out since he couldnt get off rig. He wanted me to open some checks so he could pay some bills. Gullible me did so. He then wanted me to purchase Google Play cards. I made payments on cards and let them clear and then he had me buy more. He then did unauthorized payments, not once but twice on one card. He claimed his bank account had been hacked. I blew up and texted him screaming and crying. He listened and promised he would make good soon. He blocked me and then deleted his facebook account. I have a telephone he messaged me on 917-231-8514. I looked it up and Its a number associated with Arch Wireless corp. I have reported it to facebook, and FTC. I do have the pictures he sent me. I dont know what to do. I posted a complaint on Yelp about the scam. That day, after I posted, I received 10 or 15 Friend requests. So I dont know what was going on. Im a senior with limited income and it dropped my credit score by 90 points. I will be paying payments on these accounts and will be trying to repair my credit rating. I had to cancel all cards and have them reissued. I would like to post a picture I saved to warn people. One of the cards got paid by a person in Kentucky by the name of Janet Sherrow. I dont know if she was part of the scam or a new victim. Can you describe what your scammer looks like? Dreamed of meeting him. He has white hair, 70ish. His picture is on WWF's. Wish I would have now about this site before I gave him money. Oct 25, 2018 Rating Does anyone recognize the name JIM MARINO by: Anonymous HELLO, I have been talking to a JIM MARINO, jimarino1 aol. We have been talking for over a month and he says he has a house in Georgia, USA and is now working on a rig in Alaska. He says he was working in California before having to go to Alaska. Oct 24, 2018 Rating Search names on Instagram and Facebook by: Anonymous I'm pretty sure my attempted scammer is not intelligent enough to know that having multiple names using the same photos is a clue that he is a scammer. Attractive bald man with a beard, and Facebook accounts with 3 different names. Some of the photos are youthful and the guy he stole the photos from looks like he might be gay. Marcel Giovanni Morgan and David Brown Morgan profiles can be seen by searching Facebook. Check to see if he is your scammer. He has at least 3 Instagram accounts with pics. Oct 23, 2018 Rating Robert Lucas Gim by: Deborah Leichner I encourage everyone to repost these scams. In addition to posting here, contact a federal cyber crime agency and be prepared to give them as much information as you can, including emails. I also told my story to my friends and family on face book. I shared the story and pictures and asked them to share it publicly. Not just among friends. It was an embarrassment to me but I was not going to let these scammers get away with this and find another person to hurt. I was angry and filing a complaint and making a post was a good way to get back and also save friends and family from getting caught up in a scam as well. Many friends contacted me later to say that they were scammed as well but too embarrassed to tell anyone about it. REPORT THEM AND EXPOSE THEM. At least they won't be able to use the same pictures, which were probably stolen anyways. They have my picture, and I am sure they will be trying to use that somewhere! Oct 23, 2018 Rating Looking for pictures by: Help me prove him I am seeking pictures of James, the man I am talking too. His story is that of working on an oil rig, from overseas, has two kids that stay in the states with the nanny because his wife has passed away. If you have a similar story and a picture for comparison, can you please email it to alottadot gmail. Thank you Oct 23, 2018 Rating ALWAYS ASK TO VIDEO CHAT!!!! He said he has reported about 15 accounts I helped him with a few that have used his photos. It was hard to see the real him at first but as time has gone by, it's gotten easier and I'm glad it happened. There is always something good that comes out of life's challenges. If they are real, they will video chat with you!! Otherwise they will make excuses. You need to see them LIVE and in action. Never heard from him again. Unfortunately for many, it will be too late by the time you read this but hopefully it can help someone. Oct 22, 2018 Rating He is the one by: Wiser Now I was on Twitter about six months when he came along. At the time I was trying to figure out what to do with the last quarter of Life and was very lonely and wanting Adventure but was just working and I was also trying to be a responsible person and save for my future as the experts say you should have a 20-year cushion of retirement savings so I was doing my part to be assertive and prepare for the future. Jeff Blake came to me and was very very friendly and just started opening up conversations. I was feeling pretty good physically and I started responding to conversations he did ask me if I had children and he asked me about my situation. I told him a little bit but not a lot. But then one day he got very friendly towards me and he sent me information that he was an oil rigger engineer in the Shetland Islands north of the UK on a rig in the North Sea. Then we started chatting everyday but just small talk at first and then it started getting sweet then started getting romantic and I found myself thinking about this individual during the day as he was starting to consume my thoughts and I started having Daydreams about this individual with his image in my mind was romantic and he started sending messages and I was being consumed with it. About 3 months into it he asked for water on the rig as their water is not safe to drink and he needed bottle water of about 200 cases shipped over and it was for his men he said. So I went and shipped enough money to an agent to ship him 200 cases of bottled water for his men and after they received them these men were so so happy they were just singing happily drinking water on the rig because the water is no longer contaminated. A month later and he requested in and he contacted me and he said that one of his men did not Grease the crane and that it was broken and that he needed Parts shipped as soon as possible so he could complete his contract and him being an engineer he had to sign and extend his credit limit. After a week he said he received the parts in his shipment but he then needed 9000 more dollars for technicians to fly in from Scotland to repair the crane so at this time I was really in deep and thick and so I felt like I had to complete the job so he could get his check and he did promise many times to pay me back with interest. But before his check was deposited into the bank he was in a hotel room and needed hotel fare and then airfare to travel. All along I thought that he was a real man and that the image I was talking to was real and that he was going to come and meet me and that we would start dating and courting and learning about each other and starting a relationship. I wasn't just going to jump into things real fast and once he arrived in the states I would do research but one day I found a tweet that said it's so and so. So I went to the Twitter address and oh my God I found the images that the man had been using on me for many many months. Then I contacted the real man in the picture who is a business man in Fort Lauderdale FL and told him. He said that many times his images were stolen and used by scammers. At this time I knew I was a victim of an oil rig engineer scam. I found this site and some other victims contacted me and joined some groups that help some but it is a very lonely walk and my money taken that has taken me over ten years to save is gone and
